‘Cause I Can

Instead of using a random word generator to inspire this blog, I thought I’d use a random name generator.

R.N.G says Leonardo

The obviously choice here would be Leonardo DiCaprio..or even Leonardo DaVinci, but I’m going to go totally off that train of thought.

The name Leonardo makes me think of period dramas, with all those posh men and women dressed up in fancy clothes, strutting around as if they’re Verka. Then, from the thought of Period Dramas I think of Vanity Fair just because that’s a period drama I’ve seen.

Vanity Fair reminds of a programme that was aired on T4 at the beginning of the year, called Vanity Lair. I know that  Fraz saw a few, but if anyone else is reading this who doesn’t know what it is, I’ll fill you in.

Basically, there were a bunch of young people (around 18 to late 20s) who all thought they were Beautiful People. Every week, 3 more people who were convinced they were Beautiful People. The originals had to get rid of one of them, purely based on first impressions. Then, the remaining two would spend a few days with the rest, and then at the end of the week the originals would have to pick the one they rated as the most beautiful who would then stay on as a Beautiful Person, but they would  then have to chose a person that they would replace (based on how beautiful they thought they were….All tactics really).  This went on for a few weeks, until there were loads of people who were convinced they were beautiful. The end show saw all of them rate each other out of 10, and then the one who received the highest, won the whole show. (If anyone’s interested, my favourite one won the show.. he was the guy who wore hats and string round his wrist. He was a dude).

Apparently, the main aim of the programme was to find out what is beauty? Each week the people in the house would be tested on things such as their sense of humour, intelligence, physical fitness… at then they would discuss if they thought that any of those factors were important when judging someone’s beauty.

Most weeks saw them reaching the conclusion that the only thing that mattered was how people looked. At the end, a few of them realised that there was more to people than what was on the surface.

The whole show was quite weird really, but strangely addictive. It made me question what I think beauty is. Are the people who I find to be attractive just good looking, or is there more to them? Am I incredibly shallow, or deep?

I like to think it’s a bit of both. I love a person to be clever, with an amazing sense of humour. Personally, I don’t care about physical fitness (look at me). They’ve gotta be friendly, trusting and loving.

Looks wise; I judge a person on their appearences, if I’m watching tv or walking down the street. I’ll think “ooh he’s wearing a hat!” orr “oof he has long hair” but if I’m going to talk to someone, I’ll wait till I know them to figure out what I think about them.

I read a good quote once; How can someone with such a pretty face, be so ugly?

So there you have it; I can go from the name Leonardo, to the above quote.

Wahey.

“You Sound So…British!”

August 19, 2008 at 7:27 pm (Uncategorized)

Another pointless blog, but ahh well.

I dragged Fraz into town today, mainly cause I didn’t wanna hang round with my mum and sister but I needed to go into the phone shop (although they really didn’t help. Dammit, and James is so fine [yes Fraz, fiine]) soo I took Fraz =D

After the phone shop shizz we marched off to Poundland (Fraz’s home from home…other than my house =P). We walked round, pointing out all the usual amazing Poundland things…and then we found these hats. There was a turkey hat, a pig hat, an Irish leprechaun hat, and an Irish hat with ginger pigtails. Of course, we tried them on, and decided we were going to buy them. Fraz settled for the Irish leprechaun hat (the irony; he’s so tall, he’s like three leprechauns stacked on top of each other) and i went for the turkey hat.

Fraz spotted a huuuuuge box of straws (by huge I mean the straws were reeeally long) and so he obviously bought them.

We walked round with Fraz in his hat and me in mine, with him carrying a box of straws. We sat the turkey on the hat which was on the box of straws, and named him Davey. Fraz created an accent for him, and decided that he was lost and needed to find his way to Cuba. As we walked past the Travel Shop thing (yeah the name has escaped me right now) I saw a poster advertising a holiday to Cuba ; photo moment!

We received odd looks from people, which we loved cause we’re just like that.

I decided that Davey needed a friend, so we went back to Poundland (Despite Davey being annoyed that we weren’t taking him to Cuba) and I bought a pig, who we later named Ewan because he was Scottish.

We sat eating our McFlurrys outside Superdrug when I suddenly read out a poster that said “Love Your Mouth“. This made Fraz nearly choke, as he thought I was telling him that I love his mouth (which ya know, I obviously do because his mouth is super hot =D ).

While we sat there, these plastics came out of Superdrug and stood in front of us, just talking. Then, a dude from Superdrug ran out and started talking to them; Fraz heard him say “Come inside while we wait for the police to arrive”. Being easily amused, we were quite amazed that we’d seen shoplifters get caught; the only thing better than that would have been to see them shop lifting as well.

We bought Ribena (I know what you’re drinking) so that we could use the mahoosive straws. We sat there, Fraz drinking, wearing our hats when a buncha chavs strutted up to us. “Can I have your hat?!” yelled one at Fraz as he grabbed the leprechaun hat off his head. Fraz grabbed it back and said “no!” so the chav went for mine, but I was holding on to it for dear life so he couldn’t take it away; no one was stealing my Ewan! After they went, Fraz couldn’t believe how mean they’d been; it was as if he didn’t know what chavs were like and this was his first confrontation with them.

Again, while sitting there, a girl we know (Kathryn) saw us and walked up to talk to us. We ended up telling her random things we’d seen and done, and Fraz commented that we were like an old married couple, saying things like “oh yes dear, we did that too!” which was kinda true =P

As we started walking down to..wherever, we saw a friend of ours (Alistair) walking up to his job at McDonalds so we started talking to him. I felt crappy; Fraz is 6ft2 (maybe even 3 now) and Alistair is about the same height; and then there was me. I’m tiny. And they wouldn’t let me forget it either; tall people never do. Kimi commented that I was a pixie =P which is true =D

We went home, and a few hours later Fraz came round again =D I really can’t get enough of that guy; I’ve missed him oodles and oodles so I need to build up my Fraz fix again =D

We walked round Baschurch in our hats, me carrying Davey and Fraz carrying a burberry umberella. We rock so  much. We called on Amy; who was prolly quite scared of us as we probably came across as being drunk (We get drunk on air) and we freaked out her parents to start off with, but then her mum offered us some runner beans, which Fraz took (he has a problem with free food…). We  then saw a house that was offering free vegetables in their garden, and he managed to clear nearly all of it; telling us that his mum would be proud of him; with his sticky caugette (one of my favourite euphamisms today).

My battery is running low, so I’m gonna wrap this up.

I love Fraz =D I really do.

“I’d Rom Com You To The Death!”

August 15, 2008 at 7:59 pm (Uncategorized)

I went to the annual Shrewsbury Flower Show (the time of the year when tourists come from random places to trall round the local Quarry which is packed full with flowers and people trying to sell you random things) with Kimi today. I had loads of fun =D So yeah, I’m gonna write about it; mainly for myself because I like to look back on the day’s events =D

I was pretty hungry when we got there so we found seats near the main arena to sit on for me to eat my grub. As a bonus, there was entertainment for us to watch while I ate; people riding horsies!

A  bit later we were at the arena again and this time there were the motorcross dudes riding and performing magical flying tricks. They kept ordering the crowd to cheer at them to spur them on. Well, me and Kimi never need to be ordered to cheer; we whoop at anything. They told us to pick our favourite to win and we had to cheer extra loud for them. I misheard the name of one of the guys; he was called Samson but I thought they said Samsung, so he was my favourite because he had the name of a TV manufacturer (and he was in black, which is always good). This guy was 19, and had stars tattoed up his arms; amazing.

So there we were, yelling after everything they did, and me taking amazing action shots of them (I’m so stupidly proud of them). We decided that we were going to push our way to the front so we could see them closer up and they could hear our cheers, just cause we’re cool like that. While cheering, we wished Frazz was there to cheer with us; his cheering would have rocked *wink wink nudge nudge*

We found a place nearish the front and continued cheering (much to the annoyance of people around us who glared at us for cheering so loudly and stupidly. Well that’s what we were being told to do, so ha). It came to an end but we were informed by one of the dudes that we could meet them afterwards and buy merchendise. We ran round to where their stall was and planned to buy a signed poster. The first time I caught a  glimpse of them I was so disappointed. They looked so skanky and icky. Especially Samsung, whose tattoo said “never leave me”  Great. They asked for our names and when Kimi said “Kim” the older dude said to Samsung “Oh you like the name Kim don’t you?!” but he was too busy looking at the scary human dog and massive scottish man to reply.

We saw a stall of really pretty twiddly things (that’s as far as my description is going tonight) and so we went in to look at them. I just stood there, totally transfixed on them, so the man spoke to Kimi about them. He had the same accent as the small guy in Madagascar who says “My plan is working in a working kind of way”, which was so cute. He told Kimi how they work and blew on one of them to demonstrate. He then asked, “So what do you like? Butterflies?” and Kimi just nodded, so he turned his attention to me and obviously thought I was a bit slow and just said to me, “They’re pretty aren’t they?” in a really patronising voice. I replied, “Yeahh can I take a photo to show my mum?” I took a lot cause they came out so wel =D all sparkly and what-not.

Kimi wanted to win a toy chicken with this game where you had to knock over skittle things with 3 balls. She tried with 2 and did quite well and I nicked the last ball and did terribly. She hated me so much then and wouldn’t let me touch her balls after that, and I wouldn’t blame her either. She tried again with 3 balls, and after she’d finished (and didn’t win) the guy behind the stall said to me “Go on then!” and lobbed a ball at me. Now, I’m obviously one of those girls who can’t throw or catch at all so the ball just hit me and rolled off, so he shouted, “Get it then!” Sport has always been my strong point…

We wandered off into town so I could buy stuff =D and went into Peacocks to do our normal thing of trying on clothes we know we’re not going to buy. We had 4 each, and so when we had them on we took picis =D it’s just something we like to do (again, cause we’re cool like that) but I saw that there were loads of people waiting; so I finished up early and went out. When I walked past them every single one of them glared at me, so I just hurried off to hang up the stuff.

When we’d finished in town Kimi decided she was gonna go home, so I walked back up to the Quarry to meet my mum and sister.  I was walking up the hilly bit, behind this old man. I thought he looked fairly innocent and nice, but no. He was walking behind a teenage couple, and every few seconds they would turn round and look at him. When he saw them looking, he would shout at them “I’m still here!” “Yeah I’m still behind you!” and I became more and more freaked out; I was behind a complete stalker. I started walking slower and slower so I wasn’t near him, but I still wound up crossing the road with him. Thankfully though, he lost the couple.

Because my people were watching some music thing that I wasn’t interested in in the main arena, I said that I’d just walk around and take photos of flowers and things (because I love doing that =D ) I didn’t know they were going to be so long though; I was trailing round by myself for two hours. I must have looked like such a loser, and for the first hour I really didn’t care because I was having loads of fun, taking photos while listening in on people’s conversations (wow I sound like a freak) but after I’d walked round all the tents twice, I’d had enough and started texting people.

In one of the tents, there were loads of fruits and vegetables and I could hear Fraz’s voice say “but there aren’t any lemons!” there were some damn long carrots though; must longer than 6.2.

When we finally got in the car to go back home, my feet were killing me. I now have a huuuge (and I mean huge) blister on my little toe, and it hurts so much it makes me limp =(

Ahh well, twas a day of awesomeness =D

Love y’all

When Friends Are Away

August 9, 2008 at 9:45 pm (Uncategorized)

I have four really close friends who I like to talk to  a lot. There’s Kimi, Fraz, Bev and Dan. Normally, I speak to Kimi, Bev and Dan online every night, and I see Fraz a fair bit in real life. But tonight, I only have one of them.

I don’t blame them for going away, I just miss them.

Kimi’s in London with her family; she’s back tomorrow =D

Bev’s at her cousin’s ; she’s only been gone for today, but next week she’s going on holiday to America (now that, I hate her for. I would kill to go to America!!) and she’ll be gone for too long.

Fraz has been in France for a week, and has another week left. I think out of the all, I miss Fraz the most at the moment, because I’ve been so bored recently, and I’ve thought “oh I can ring Fraz!” then I realize I can’t.

*sigh*

Dan’s the only one who’s here; and to be honest he’s not that good =P

I MISS YOU ALL!!!

But then again, I hope you’re all having fun =)

Love you
